Imagination, imagery, and jumping the line

Editor’s note: This post will be a bit shorter than the last two, but I want to get some info out there on the artist submissions and the community groups.

Artist Submissions – Coming Soon!

Over the last couple of months I’ve gotten a few inquiries from artists asking if we’ll be having a gallery or featured artwork on the site. The short answer is “yes”.

The somewhat longer answer is this:

We want to have artwork featured on the site, and as part of the e-zines and anthologies. To do that, we need to put into place a system similar to the one we have for authors, but that process is taking some time to refine.

That being said, we want to gauge just how much interest there is from the artist community, so we’ve put together a short form for people who would like to submit artwork for consideration to the site.

If you’re an artist and would like to be considered, please fill out the form on this page: Portfolio Submissions

If you are interested in seeing artwork on the site, please leave a comment below and let us know what kinds of art you’d find interesting.

Facebook Groups – Opening Next Week!

As I mentioned in a post earlier this week, we’ll be starting a couple of Facebook groups for interested writers and artists. I’m pleased to announce that these groups will be opening next week and we’ll have links posted along with information about how to join.

One thing I do want to note is that these groups are being made with the overall goal of helping people and nurturing our creative talents and skills. Therefore, we will not be allowing promotional posts of any type in the groups, and there will be a code of conduct that everyone will be expected to follow. I don’t envision having to kick/ban people from any of our spaces, but do please be aware that it will be a moderated space from the start and may have more rules than you’re used to with a typical Facebook group.

Anthology Update!

And I couldn’t resist adding a brief update on our submission numbers. As of 8:06 AM Central today, we have 205 submissions!
